I feel a story rise from these songs. Kathy and Kathleen were the names of my Mom. From joy to sadness to being reminded by friends to do my work. The rain stops as I arrive to a beach in Greece. Feeling what has been lost and what is still there, and all that is to come. I round a corner and see my Mom there, sitting in her jeans, red shirt and wide-brimmed hat. even in the afterlife her skin remains pale, sun-sensitive. The bar comes out of the beachside hill. In the bar's cavern a piano, and the echoes of singing, voices all along the walls. My first song flows into her namesong, written 15 years later. It had always been there, her Spirit with me all along. Outside the bar the beach continues into the shape of a deep crescent moon. Day has become night, and in the distance I see people gathering with lights, flame and instruments.
It’s time to party, to celebrate.
